Job Description
A PhD position in Human Immunology is available at Federation University Australia. Prof Stuart Berzins will be the primary supervisor of this project, which will be based at the University’s Mt Helen campus near Ballarat, although it is likely to involve semi-regular visits to collaborators in Melbourne and elsewhere. Project opportunities exist in areas of developmental and cancer immunology, and in the immunology of cardiovascular disease and exercise science.
The Berzins laboratory is well equipped with a 15 colour Fortessa flow cytometer and all necessary infrastructure for cellular and molecular immunology research. A 3 year scholarship (with potential 6mo extension) will be provided at current APA rates, with a laptop computer and support for attending conferences and seminars provided. Required Skills
Candidates should have an Honours (Class 1 or 2a) or Masters degree in a relevant biomedical discipline. Experience in immunology techniques such as tissue culture, functional/molecular assays and flow cytometry would be an advantage, but are not essential.
