ASI launched the Women’s Initiative website in December 2013. This website promotes women immunologists, provides a mentoring service and features a database of talented female immunologists. Recently, EFIS also launched their “Women in Immunology” database. Similarly to the ASI database, the EFIS goal is to help scientists, research institutions, conference organisers and journal editors to easily identify high quality female immunologists. The World Health Organization has declared an international public health emergency for polio. The polio virus is spreading and ten countries are now vulnerable. This is an urgent call for the international community to redouble our efforts and finally eradicate polio.
